Mural of the Month! Everton Buildings Mosaic Mural

We thought we could try something new (and exciting) by featuring a mural each month. It might be all about the history, it might be a personal favourite or it might be a new discovery with lots of pics for you to enjoy!

Today’s MURAL OF THE MONTH! is one we went to visit recently, located just to the side of Euston in a little quiet street that isn’t even on street view. We had seen another by the same artist on the North London Mural walk. These two piece were created around 1999 to 2001 by Kenya Mosaics. Yes, it’s a mosaic, folks! Anyway, less of the waffle, here’s some pics!

This is not all of the mural! There is a panel around the corner past the street sign and the mural goes back in the other direction – the left of the bike!

This dog is gorgeous and the quality of mosaic skills is some of the best I’ve seen in London ( so far…).

Another beautiful scene! Some of the objects are symbolically coloured in whereas others give a sense of trying to understand them as a three dimensional object by using shade and tone.

Squeeze between the windows, this character is spoilt by the metal cable protector running through the middle. This seems to happen to quite a few murals.

So now you are all excited about the mural and want to have a look for yourself, the mural is located at Everton Buildings, Euston, NW13.

Please go see it for yourself! I don’t think the pictures do it justice!
