It’s oh so quiet…..

Yes, I’m sure some of you have been wondering where the blogs posts are and what have we been doing and “donde esta” mural of the month and, well, what’s happening?

Rest your fears, we have been busy communicating, photographing, populating (the website!) and meeting.

Our main focus has been on the website and we have now got 40 murals recorded on the site! Hooray for us! However we have at least 37 left to add and that doesn’t include the lost murals of which there are several important pieces.

Plus… there are more to be photographed! Our eager L_MPers have been off to the deepest darkest parts of London (Erith) to search out murals to record. We have also had the occasional person alert us to a mural and when to access it . Thanks to Stella for reminding us that the John Scurr School in Bethnal Green is a polling station so we can get in to photograph the mural. She also took a pic of one of our members at work!

And what about all our communicating? Well we had a gallery of murals in the ex-pat section of the Telegraph. We were also mentioned in the Times yesterday. There has been many emails; discussions with 20th Century Society about listings, talks about a walk in Fitzrovia to raise funds for their planned restoration, contacts with muralists, and people sharing their memories of murals.

And meeting? Well, we were very honoured to have a visit from the people who run Mural Locator, an organisation from America who are mapping murals around the world. We gave them a thorough tour of Brixton – it was a beautiful day and the sun shone in the all the right places for the mural people.

So all in all, a pretty busy couple of months. So forgive us on our slackness in the blogging department and go have a root around the website . See if you can visit a mural this weekend!
